The operations of the Finnish Red Cross are steered by strong basic principles.

The operations of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement are steered by seven fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, universality and unity. These principles also steer the cooperation between the Finnish Red Cross and businesses.

In accordance with our values, we are an open, effective and cooperative partner willing to serve. The starting point of our company cooperation is a shared value base and increasing the effectiveness of operations.

  • We cooperate with sustainable companies that take care of their environmental and social responsibility. In principle, we cooperate with established operators.

  • Our cooperation with companies is transparent. We actively communicate on the types of cooperation we engage in with companies.

  • We are actively seeking partnerships that increase either competence or resources on both sides. We are open to novel ways of operating in cooperation with companies.

  • We understand the importance of company cooperation to the development of our operations and strive to take into account the needs of both parties in our cooperation.

  • We do not cooperate with companies that operate against our values or principles. We do not cooperate with the arms or tobacco industry.

  • The Red Cross symbol is protected and its use is always agreed upon separately between the parties of company cooperation.
