Peer support for loneliness and social relationships in the ‘Bringing up loneliness’ online group.
In the ‘Bringing up loneliness’ online peer group, you have the opportunity to:
- deepen your understanding of loneliness
- meet new people and share experiences with them
- strengthen your self-confidence
- find your strengths and alleviate the experience of loneliness
The peer group programme includes guided and informal discussions. Trained Red Cross volunteers ensure the safe atmosphere of the peer groups.
The group meets once a week for a total of eight times. Each meeting lasts approximately 90 minutes. The group is a closed small group of around 15 people.
The peer group is suitable for anyone over the age of 18. Participation in the group is free of charge, but we want the participants to be motivated and committed to the group for the entire period of activity.
The first ‘Bringing up loneliness’ peer groups started in October 2024 and new groups start every few months. Currently, we offer groups in Finnish, but we also organize them in English and Swedish as needed.
