Risk Zones learning material about the risks affecting the world and how to prepare for them
Climate change and the refugee situation, the Covid-19 pandemic, conflicts and many other challenges of the changing world are issues that many students are thinking about. Our Risk Zones learning material has been warmly welcomed, and it can also help you learn more about these issues, as well as many other risks in the world.
Facts, graphics and assignments
The material has sections for 17 different risks, each containing facts, graphics, videos, images and stories from the world, as well as assignments for the students. The students can do the assignments and check them independently. The questions can then be reflected on together in small groups or with the whole class with the teacher’s guidance.
The learning material is available in Finnish, Swedish and English and also in Easy Finnish. It is completely free and available to everyone. By signing in as a teacher from the upper right corner of the front page of the material, you gain access to the teacher’s instructors but using the material does not require signing in.
The themes support the curriculum contents of both lower secondary schools and general upper secondary schools, and they also work well in multidisciplinary study units. The images and graphics are especially well suited for younger pupils.
